Weekend house fire caused by short in electrical wiring
According to a report from Nevada Fire Chief Troy Denney, the Nevada Fire Department responded to a structure fire over the weekend.
The department was called to a fire in the attic of the residence at 810 W. Arch St., on Sunday, March 20. Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming from the ceiling of the upstairs attic. Responders had to remove the ceiling and insulation from the area.
According to the release, a "quick knock down of the fire was made by crews."
The cause of the fire was found to be a short in the electrical wiring in the attic. The American Red Cross was called for displacement of the resident.
The number of apparatus responding were four, with 7 personnel members. The resulting time on the scene was two hours with no injuries or fatalities.
