Ellen Marie (Pritchett) Smith

Ellen Marie (Pritchett) Smith passed from her earthly home on Dec. 23, 2022, near Nevada. She was born on July 4, 1954, in El Dorado Springs, Mo., to Delbert L. (Pete) Pritchett and Thelma L. (Blagg) Pritchett. Ellen was raised mainly in Vernon County and attended school in Bronaugh. She loved all animals and enjoyed riding her horses.

Ellen married C.J. Smith on Feb. 5, 1975, in St. Louis, Mo., and to this union was born a baby girl, Destiny. C.J., Ellen, and Destiny spent a great amount of time traveling by motorcycle throughout the country before returning to Vernon County in 1987. After returning to Vernon County, Ellen worked in the accounting department of Nevada City Hospital and later enjoyed cleaning office buildings until her retirement. Ellen was a kind soul and spent much of her time caring for her animals and her home.

Ellen was preceded in death by her loving husband C.J.; mother; infant brother; grandparents; and many fur babies. Ellen is survived by her daughter, Destiny Connelly (Tracy) of Nevada; father, Delbert Pritchett of Moundville; sister, Angie Modlin (Paul) of Moundville; brother, Dale Pritchett (Lori) of Topeka, Kan.; and stepson, Charles H. Estes (Peggy) of Park Hills, Mo. She is also survived by many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; fur babies; and caring friends.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 31, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with Dale Pritchett officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
