Patricia "Pat" Ann Nance, age 83, of Lamar, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo., surrounded by family.

Pat was born Dec. 9, 1939, in Clinton, Iowa, to Frank Joseph Murphy and Pearl Marie (Conley) Murphy. Pat was blessed with three beautiful children: Debbie, Bill and Troy, who were her pride and joy. Pat moved to Sheldon, Mo., in 1966 and then to Lamar, Mo., in 1992.

Pat worked for O'Sullivan Industries for 22 years in the packing and castor departments. Pat enjoyed cooking and baking. She would always make a special dessert for those she loved. And Pat loved everyone, if Pat knew you, she loved you. Pat's pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. She would tell them all her stories, sing them nursery rhymes and songs. Spending time with her family filled her heart with happiness and love. The holidays brought so much joy to Pat. She would make sure to bake her famous sugar cookies and make sure all her kids and grandkids had "goodie" candy bags. Pat started many holiday traditions and has passed those traditions on to her kids and grandkids. She was the rock for her family and there will always be a void that cannot be filled. Pat loved the Chicago Cubs "Cubbies" and the K.C. Chiefs, and was so thrilled to watch their Superbowl win. Pat was loved by many, and she will be missed tremendously by her family and friends.

Survivors include two sons: Col. Bill (Ginger) Nance of Sheldon, Mo., and Troy (Brandi) Nance of Lamar; one daughter, Debbie (Russell) Rawlings of Jerico Springs, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Justin Rawlings of Sheldon, Jennifer (Matt) Dennett of Oronogo, Mo., Cheyenne Harper of Jasper, Mo., Sabrina Nance of Richards, Mo., Natalie (Phillip) Roskamp of Lamar, Dustin Nance of Joplin, Mo., Danielle Nance of Lamar, Erica Nance of Lamar, Tyler Nance of Lamar, and Coltin Nance, of Lamar; six great-grandchildren, Bryston Potter, Rose Harper, Weston Roskamp, Waylon Roskamp, Anthony Bowen and Lucy Dennett; two brothers, Michael Murphy of Clinton, Iowa, and Jerry (Angie) Murphy of Clive, Iowa; one sister, Janis (Jack) Lloyd of Meriden, Conn.; along with many nieces and nephews and family members.
