Eric Joseph Hathaway

Eric Joseph Hathaway, 47, Milo, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at his home in Milo following a lengthy illness. Eric was born May 20, 1975, in Chicago, Ill., to Burton J. and Edna M. (DeMaeyer) Hathaway. He married Stephanie L. England on June 27, 1998, in Carter, Ill., and she survives of the home.

Eric was raised in Chicago and later moved to Mt. Vernon, Ill., at the age of 10. He graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School in 1994. Following high school Eric worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon for 13 years. In June of 2022 he moved to Missouri and settled in rural Milo where he has continued to reside.

In addition to his wife, Stephanie, survivors include four children, Maddox Hathaway (Jessica), Dakota Hathaway, Clayton Hathaway, and Cheyanne Hathaway, all of Milo, Mo.; father, Burton Hathaway, Mt. Vernon, Ill.; brother, Marc Hathaway (Jill), Winston-Salem, N.C.; two nephews, Chad Hathaway, Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Jordan Hathaway of Winston-Salem, N.C. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Hathaway; his son, Hunter Hathaway; and a brother, Alec Hathaway.
