Newly elected Nevada Mayor Kendall Vickers presented outgoing Mayor, George Knox, with a plaque recognizing his years of service as the Nevada Mayor.

Vickers noted that Knox was good at engaging with the community, even beginning what has now become known as a monthly "Coffee and Conversation with the Mayor" where residents can discuss concerns and ask questions in a more informal setting. Mayor Vickers also added that Knox has attended more additional board meetings outside of council than any mayor he could think of in recent memory.

After the plaque presentation, the council went on to approve bids, agenda items, and hear an update on Moore-Few Care Center. For more in-depth coverage of these items, see the Friday edition of the Nevada Daily Mail.
