Jo Ann Gillette

Jo Ann Gillette, 89, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Moore-Few Care Center, in Nevada. Jo Ann was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Kansas City, Mo., to Clem L. and Alice M. (Jenkins) O’Rear. She was united in marriage to Arthur Francis Gillette on May 16, 1953, in Kansas City, Mo., and he survives in Nevada.

Jo Ann was raised in Kansas City, Mo. She lived in Kansas City and Warsaw most of her life. She and Art have resided in Nevada since 2006. Jo Ann was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

In addition to her husband Art of 70 years, she is survived by four children, William A Gillette (Cheryl), Nevada, Danny L. Gillette (Mary), Nevada, Sheri Sue Lewman (Jim), Lakeland, Fla., and Diana Lynn Chambers (Eugene), Shawnee, Kan.; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; and one brother.

Graveside committal services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 3, at Salem Cemetery in Foster, Mo., with Elder Tim Claypool officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the Salem Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 1, Foster, MO, 64745.
