Kelly Dawn (Curtis) Chadd
Kelly Dawn (Curtis) Chadd, 57, Sheldon, Mo., passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Cox South, Springfield, Mo. Kelly was born March 5, 1967, to Joseph W. “Bill” and Billie (Sherrell) Curtis. She was united in marriage to Ron Chadd on June 20, 2015, in Sheldon, Mo. He survives of the home.
Kelly attended Nevada High School and graduated in 1985. She received her LPN certificate in 1993 and graduated from Crowder College with a degree in Nursing on May 10, 2010.
Throughout her life, Kelly worked several jobs but health care was her calling. She was right at home helping people. Her favorite was being a hospice nurse until her territory was so large she was never home. Many will remember her as a Director of Nursing at Barone Alzheimer’s Care Center. Most recently she was an RN at Cox Barton County in Lamar, Mo. We cannot express the care that we received from both Cox Barton County hospital in Lamar and Cox South Hospital in Springfield nor can we forget Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Some battles just cannot be won. Her brother started Kelly on her newest hobby of fishing and she loved it. When spare time allowed her, she and Ron could be seen fishing either on Truman Lake or Lake of the Ozarks. Kelly and Ron loved to travel and see new sites. She loved her dogs and cooking and entertaining family and friends, especially on holidays. She loved planning parties.
Additional survivors include three children, Lacy Williams of Pleasant Hope, Mo., Cole Brock of Deerfield, Mo., and Evan (Ally) Brock of Nevada, Mo.; brother, Monte Curtis and sister-in-law, Tammy Brown of Nevada, Mo.; sister, Vicky Arthur of Las Vegas, Nevada; stepson, Nick (Becky) Chadd and granddaughters, Ruby and Ellie of Carthage, Mo.; nephews, J.J.
