Nevada Fire Department responds to Sunday evening structure fire with aid from neighboring crews

The Nevada Fire Department, with the assistance of Milo and Compton Junction, battled a structure fire in the 200 block of South Oak Street Sunday evening. After two hours on scene, the fire was extinguished and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Firefighters with the Nevada Fire Department sprang into action on Sunday night, responding to a structure fire that ignited in the 200 Block of South Oak.

According to a press release from Nevada Fire Chief Troy Denney, the incident unfolded just after 8:10 p.m.

Crews managed to contain the blaze to the second floor, averting extensive damage to the structure. Assistance was extended by neighboring teams from Milo and Compton Junction, with a combined force of four trucks and 18 firefighters on the scene.

After two hours of efforts, the fire was subdued and no injuries were reported. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
