After returning to teach in California, Barbara completed a master’s degree in library science and met Alex through mutual friends. Barbara and Alex made their home in Manhattan Beach, where they raised their family, enjoyed tennis and running, and eventually worked together at Alex’s law firm. Favorite memories of the couple include the New Year’s Eve parties hosted for their grandchildren, Julia and Sam Stevens (children of Lori and Rod); Maya and Alexa Steinberg (daughters of Andy and Connie); and Claire Lee (daughter of Lee and Jeff). Barbara was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Joyce and Carol; and brother, Preston.
