Jerrold Dougherty, 73 of Nevada, Missouri passed away January 18, 2024, surround by family at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.  Cremation, with Celebration of Life services scheduled for 3:00 pm Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Nevada Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 15467 East Quail Road, Nevada, MO 64772.  Arrangements entrusted to Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009).  Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

Jerry was born on July 5, 1950 in Wichita, KS to Charles M. Dougherty and Maxine W. (Inmon) Dougherty.

In his early life, Jerry attended school in Herington, KS, graduated from Olathe High School, Olathe, KS and received the US Presidential Award for fitness in high school.

Jerry was a hard worker, a retired member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 41 Union, served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing the drums, track & field, and was well studied in astronomy, giving several lectures on the subject. He loved the Lord and serving His people. Jerry was a lifelong member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, attending and serving as deacon at the Nevada Seventh-day Adventist Church and previously at the Gladstone Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kansas City, MO.

He was preceded in death by father Charles M. Dougherty, mother Maxine W (Inmon) Dougherty, sister Joyce Menefee, brother Charles Dougherty, wife Mary Lou (Antwiler) Dougherty and wife Linda (Scott) Dougherty.

He is survived by wife Jeanine Dougherty, daughter Maria (Ron) Griffith of Kansas City, MO, daughter Karin (Shane) Woodard of Forney, TX, Daughter Leslie (Joe) Willcockson of Walnut Shade, MO, stepson Jeremy Poe of Nevada, MO, sister Bonnie (Dave) Stevenson of Springfield, MO, five grandchildren, many nephews and nieces, and friends.
