Christopher Joseph Cerny

Christopher Joseph Cerny, 42, Sheldon, MO, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 4, 2024. Christopher was born May 12, 1981 in Ft. Scott, KS to Kenneth C. and Ada L. (Hawkins) Cerny.  He married Jacqueline Nichole Reedy on February 14, 2004 at Anchor Fellowship Church in Nevada, MO and she survives of the home.

     Christopher was raised for a time in Nevada and attended Nevada schools and then moved with his family to El Dorado Springs, MO where he graduated from high school in 2000. He worked at the Nevada Habilitation Center for two years, Walmart in Nevada for 13 years, and an additional two years for “Found Ever”. Chris was a longtime member of Anchor Fellowship Church in Nevada, and most recently attended Sheldon Baptist Church.

     In addition to his wife Jacque, he is survived by four children: Austin Reedy, Las Vegas, NV, Jessica Cerny, Brysen Cerny, and Jazzlynn Cerny, all of the home; his mother, Ada Cerny, Schell City, MO; a half-sister, Teresa Cerny; and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Cerny, a sister, Carol Cerny, and a half-brother, Darrel Cerny.

     A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Sheldon Baptist Church in Sheldon, MO with Pastor Jerod Lamb officiating.

     In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
