Lynn D. Evans, aged 71 of Fallbrook, CA and Jerico Springs, MO, died unexpectedly on April 27, 2024, in Vega, Texas. His sudden death has left his family deeply saddened.

Born on April 2,1953 in Nevada, Missouri to parents J.B. Evans and Juanita Beadles, Lynn was also the beloved nephew of Bill and Joy Evans, of Nevada, MO.

At the age of 13, Lynn and his family relocated to Lynwood, California, sparking his lifelong passion for football. A standout player, he graduated from Lynwood High School in 1970, and secured numerous full-ride scholarship offers. One of the colleges seeking him was Missouri, and he happily accepted. The Missouri TIger Linebacker, #58 was an exceptional athlete. He played in the 1972 Fiesta Bowl, the 1973 Sun Bowl, and in 1974 he was named the Sports Illustrated Defensive Player of the Week. Fifty years later, Lynn’s legacy lives on, as he’s still ranked #10 for the most tackles in a single season at Mizzou. 

After graduating from Mizzou, Lynn returned to California, married his high school sweetheart, Christine Borning, and started a family. He then embarked on a 32-year career in the construction industry as an Iron-Worker and Operating Engineer, earning respect and recognition as one of the most diligent workers in his field. Lynn enjoyed time boating on the Colorado River or traveling between his residences in California and Jerico Springs, Missouri.

Lynn was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 30 years, Christine Borning Evans, and his sister Vicki Bevard. .

Lynn leaves behind his four children: Kelli Cox, Angie Taylor, Joshua Evans, William Evans and his wife Kerry Evans. A cherished grandfather, Lynn adored his three grandchildren: granddaughters Kylah and Kennah Cox, and grandson Evan Taylor, who were the light of his life.

Lynn is survived by siblings: William H. Evans and wife Gina Evans, Rhonda K. Evans, and Brenda J, Chartrand and husband Kevin Chartrand, in addition to 15 nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held at the Bland-Brumback Funeral Home, 306 S High, Stockton MO, at 10 am on Friday, May 10th 2024.

Burial Service immediately following funeral (approx 12 pm) at: Hall Cemetery, 5000-5124 East 1550 Road, Jerico Springs, MO.
