He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, known for his quiet strength, deep integrity, and unwavering love for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy Ann “Pudgie” Ogle. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to their family.

He is also survived by his loving companion and devoted caregiver, Debbie Vance, whose care and companionship brought great comfort and joy in his later years. Gary was a longtime member of First Christian Church and a proud member of the Elk’s Lodge. His faith and community were important to him, and he formed many lifelong friendships through both. An avid water skier, Gary barefoot waterskied on his 70th birthday, a testament to his energy and zest for life. He also loved spending time at the family farm in northern Missouri, where many joyful gatherings with family and friends took place. Some of his most treasured memories were made during turkey hunts with his son, Kirk and grandson Brantlee--moments he
held close to his heart. Gary loved his life at Grand Lake and cherished the numerous wonderful
friends he had there. They were all special to him, and he had a nickname for most, reflecting his warmth and close connections. Gary will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him for his kindness, steady presence, and heartfelt devotion to those around him.
A memorial service to honor Gary’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, Missouri. A lunch reception will follow at the Elk’s Lodge in Nevada, Missouri, where friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate his life.
