Susan Ring

Susan Ring, 78, El Dorado Springs, MO, passed into her Savior’s presence on Friday, August 22, 2025, surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grand- child. Susan was born on June 18, 1947, in Joplin, MO to Clarence and Betty (Rosenberry) Jackson. She was the eldest of 6 children and spent her whole childhood in Joplin. Susan enjoyed caring for her family, especially her younger siblings, and loved the time she spent with her Grandma Blanche. She graduated from Missouri State University with an Associate Degree in mathematics. She worked at St. John’s Hospital in Joplin.
Susan met her husband, Clifford Ring, and married him on August 15, 1968, in Joplin, soon after they met. They made their home in Sheldon, MO. Susan worked at Finley Engineering in Lamar, MO and Sheldon State Bank. Cliff and Susan welcomed three children together, Jeffrey Scott, Jason Wade, and Julie Michelle, and raised them in Sheldon. Susan helped manage the family business – Ring TV & Appliance – and spent her time caring for her home, cooking for her family, growing flowers, and serving as a substitute teacher. She later made her home in El Dorado Springs, MO. She cherished the things and home God gave her. Her family remembers their home as always beautiful and welcoming. Her love for her family was beyond measure. She displayed it daily through how well she cared for them.
Susan deeply loved her grandchildren, who all know her as Mimi. She cherished each individually. Mimi found purpose in loving her grandchildren, just as she did her own children. She faithfully lived out that purpose. She never hesitated to give of herself for the benefit of her children and grandchildren. Her home was always open to visit. Her time was always open for conversation. But more than anything, her heart was always open to share her love. She celebrated their accomplishments, strengthened them in adversity and offered wisdom in uncertainty. Many grandchildren lived in Indiana, but she never let distance diminish how they felt her love. She called daily and talked for hours, remembering each detail. Mimi personified selfless love and set the example of who a grandma should be. Her family will remember and love her as she remembered and loved her Grandma Blanche.
Susan’s parents, Betty and Clarence, preceded her in death along with three siblings, Michael, Mark and Don Jackson. She is survived by her sister, Melody (Scott) Neilan, and her brother, Ron (Becky) Jackson, along with many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her husband of 57 years and 5 days, Cliff, and her three children: Jeffrey (Jenny) Ring, Jason (Lorraine Wright) Ring, and Julie (Clint) Huber. She has 18 grandchildren; Emily, Gavin, Abby, Weston, and Brody Ring, Jared (Mary) Huber, Josiah Huber, Anna (Chad) Stockman, Joah (Kelsey) Huber, Jeremiah, Aleah, Jedidiah Justus, Adaiah, Arileigh, Jairon Cyrus, Alleluia, and Jordan Huber. She has one great-grandchild, Elias Huber, and one expected next month.
All her family will deeply miss her. But they rejoice that she now lives eternally with her Savior, Jesus. They pray that all who knew her will join her in heaven through salvation in Christ alone.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in City Cemetery, El Dorado Springs, MO. Friends may call now until the hour of service time at the funeral home.
