Margaret Ann Carter

Margaret Ann Carter, 69, left this world to be with her savior, at her home in Sheldon, MO on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Margaret was born March 15, 1956, in El dorado Springs, MO to Herman E. and Genora L. (Cox) Driskell. She was united in marriage to Gary C. Carter on September 1, 1974, and he preceded her in death on March 20, 1994.
Margaret was raised in Cedar County and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1974. She attended Community College in Mobile, AL and later Ft. Scott Community College. For a time, Margaret worked in hospitality management in Kansas City, MO and came to Nevada in 1990. Margaret worked at Mercy Hospital in Ft. Scott, KS for 10 years and then worked at Woods Grocery in Ft. Scott for 10 years, Walmart in Ft. Scott for 10 years, and in Home Healthcare until her retirement. She has resided in Sheldon for the past three years.
Margaret was saved on August 30, 1968, and was baptized on October 6, 1968, at Concord Baptist Church and was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Nevada, MO. She was a 4-H leader for 12 years and was awarded Vernon County 4-H Leader of the Year and was member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Ft. Scott.
Survivors include two daughters, Kyla Hoffman (Kendal), Nevada, and Alicia Marsh, Leawood, KS; six grandchildren, Zac Kite (Melody), Nathan Kite, Michael R. Kite, Gabby Marsh, Cashton Hoffman, Carly Hoffman; four great-grandchildren, Arryia Kite, Keith Kite, Amelia Kite, and Dallas Kite; three siblings, Nancy Eaves (Sam), El Dorado Springs, Charles Driskell, El Dorado Springs, and Don Driskell, Galveston, TX; numerous nieces and nephews also survives. In addition to her husband Gary, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Bro. D.J. Ford and Bro. Ron Pitts officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Nevada c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
