Thelma L. Neil, 82, of Schell City, formerly of Mulberry, Kan., died at 9:10 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2005, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center. She was born on Nov. 23, 1922, at Gross, Kan., the daughter of William and Flora Kreiger Thompson. She married Miles D. Neil Sr., on Sept. 14, 1939, at Girard, Kan., and he preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1997.

She was raised in Gross, Kan., and attended Gross schools. She was a homemaker. She lived in Mulberry until 1961, then moved to the Nevada area. She was a member of the Rebeka Lodge in Nevada.

She is survived by four daughters, Roberta Stewart, Arma, Kan., Sharon Scoby, Walnut, Kan., Debra Neil, Walker, and Melissa Schlup, Schell City; six sons, Miles Neil Jr., and Darrel Neil, both of Walker, Sam Neil and Mark Neil, Arma, Kan., and Randy Neil and Kevin Neil, both of Nevada; one sister, Nonia Boltz, Hoyt, Kan.; one brother, Harold Thompson, Edwardsville, Kan.; 28 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by several grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kan., with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry, Kan. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., today, at the Bedene Chapel.
