This is a scholarly work, one that a casual reader might not find satisfying. The author began the book as an undergraduate paper and grew into a doctoral dissertation.  It is, however, a book that has a lot of information that someone with an interest in history would find well worth their time. This book is definitely one that requires more from the reader than passive reading. It requires a thoughtful approach and an open-minded analysis.  ...
