Clara Ellen McBride Owens, 104, Nevada, passed away on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada, Mo. She was born Oct. 18, 1904, in Brown Springs, Mo., to Gideon McBride and Amanda Hale McBride. She married "E.J." Dutch Owens on May 18, 1945, in Oswego, Kan. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1959...

A Walker family suffered the loss of a child and their home in a weekend fire. Six-month-old Taylor Shaner, was badly burned in the fire Sunday and was transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center and then transferred to Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, where she died from her injuries Monday morning...
