A small dog touched the heart of a Nevada neighborhood and especially of a grandmother and former school teacher, Doris Weatherly Beard. Beard was so touched by the little red dog she wrote a book for children, titled, "The Little Red Dog and the Big Silver Car," which is based on a true story for her grandchildren about how the dog found a new family to live with.
