Camp Clark is one of several sites in Missouri benefiting from money coming from the federal stimulus bill. In total the projects run $2.1 million which is helping to put Missourians to work. At Camp Clark, some of the money is being used to bring World War II-era buildings up to current fire protection standards, making them more energy efficient and generally improving the buildings. ...

Cottey College is celebrating its 125th year -- a strong foundation by many accounts -- and has big hopes and dreams for the future. Ivan Thayne (Bud) Nordyke Jr., 66, of Channelview, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 25, 2009. Ivan was born on Oct. 14, 1942, in Butler, Mo., to Ivan and Margaret (Jenkins) Nordyke. Ivan Is a former resident of Nevada, and a graduate of Nevada High School. Ivan has lived in the Channelview for 40 years and worked as a truck driver. The Nevada Lady Tigers golf team finished the regular season Tuesday with a very strong finish in the Pittsburg Invitational tournament. The Lady Tigers tied for first overall with Fredonia, but ultimately came home with a second place finish as Fredonia was awarded the tie-breaker due to a better score from their fifth player. Thanks to that tie-breaker, the Lady Tigers missed out on their fourth tournament victory by just four strokes...

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. -- The Nevada Middle School seventh grade football A and B teams each suffered a tough loss on the road Thursday as they took on Carl Junction Middle School. The B game was a close contest that featured just three touchdowns between the two teams and Carl Junction pulled out a 12-6 victory.
