Floreine Florella Reed Moore, 95, Bedford, Texas, formerly of Nevada, passed away on May 10, at Baylor Grapevine Hospital in Grapevine, Texas. She was born in Carmen, Okla., to Mary Elizabeth and Alfred L. Reed. Floreine lived most of her life in Nevada. She graduated from Nevada High School where she was a star forward on the basketball team and won the state typing and shorthand championship her senior year...

The Western Missouri 911 Dispatch Board accepted the resignation of Executive Director April Tarrant during a special meeting held Friday, April 7, at the Vernon County Sheriff's Office. Tarrant will remain in her current position until May 28. Joseph Cathey, a suspect in the May 6 murder of Dennis Gibbs, is now in custody in the Vernon County Jail, having been transferred from Bourbon County where he was arrested Thursday night. Cathey, 24, is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with Gibbs' death. Gibbs' stabbed and gunshot-riddled body was found behind Gibbs' pickup at the intersection of Z Highway and Katy Track Road in rural Vernon County, near Richards...
