Nellie Lorene Confer died at the age of 83 in Springdale, Ark., on Dec. 12, 2007. On Oct. 23, 1948, Lorene was united in marriage with Paul Confer. Lorene was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Paul Keiler Confer, died at the age of 101 in Flower Mound, Texas, on Nov. 2, 2010. On Oct. 23, 1948, Paul was united in marriage with Nellie Lorene. Paul was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 265 in Pratt, Kan., and a member of Scottish Rite Bodies. Paul is survived by two daughters-in-law, Arline Confer, Holiday Island, Ark., and Adrease Confer, Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren, Diane and Larry Dixon, Anderson, S.C., Cindy and Michael Coldiron, Wichita, Kan., Michael and Teresa Confer, Overland Park, Kan., and David and Debbie Confer, Flower Mound, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. ...

Dwight C. Fanning, 72, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at his home in Nevada, following a sudden illness. Only the lids of the canners, with the gauge attached, need to be brought into the office. Those who wish to have gauges tested but are unable to be in the office on this date, may bring the canner lid and gauge in at an earlier date and pick it up at your convenience.
