Rosellen (Rosie) Harriett (Moore) Hupman, 95, of Schell City, Mo., was born April 22, 1916, in Anita, Iowa, and passed from this life Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at Christian Healthcare in Nevada, Mo. Rose attended school in Iowa and then lived and worked for a time in Alaska before settling back in the Midwest, where she managed a resort near Bean Lake. ...

The Missouri State Highway Patrol joins the National Crime Prevention Council in observing October 2011 as National Crime Prevention Month. "It is always smart to keep safety in mind, no matter where you are," the patrol said in a press release. After gearing up, a Nevada firefighter stays low and drags a charged fire hose into a residence located at 605 North Main St. in Nevada on Monday morning Sept. 26, 2011.
