JOHNSTON, Iowa --Citizen-soldiers with Company A, 311th Brigade Support Battalion out of Nevada recently headed north to the national maintenance training center at Camp Dodge in Johnston, Iowa, for their annual two-week training. Students in first through fifth grades put their creativity to work for their inventions. Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. James Wilde measures the scene of a 2 p.m. Thursday wreck four miles east of Nevada on K Highway, where an eastbound Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 21-year-old Brittani McDaniel of Sheldon had gone out of control and overturned. Wilde said McDaniel and her 3-year-old daughter Kinley had been wearing restraints and "were conscious and alert" when taken by Vernon County Ambulance District to Nevada Regional Medical Center...

Colton Byram, rural Mound City, believes he has had a passion for bull riding since about the time he started walking.
