William Kolbe Armsworthy, a resident of rural Bronaugh, Mo., died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Christian Health Care in Nevada. He was born March 31, 1920, in Garland, Kan., the son of Frank A. Armsworthy and Ella Marie Kolbe Armsworthy. He married Thelma Marie Gulliford Dec. 24, 1940, in Lamar, Mo. She preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 2010...

The Nevada High School Marching Tigers Band competed in band contest at Festival Disney in Orlando, Fla., on Friday, March 9. Their exemplary performance earned them a "1" Rating, the highest possible. The contest weekend was attended by 28 middle-school, junior-high and high-school groups from Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Tennessee, Texas, Con-necticut and Florida competing. These included marching bands, jazz ensembles, orchestras, choral ensembles, show choirs and auxiliary units...
