Claude Everette Barnes, 90, Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Moore-Few Care Center, in Nevada, following a brief illness. Claude was born on Aug. 4, 1924, in Irwin, Mo., to Virgil Barnes and Alice (Little) Barnes. He was united in marriage to Opal I. Jones in January of 1942 and to this union their two daughters were born. Opal preceded him in death in 1973. In November of 1979 Claude married Yvonne Midge Janes and she also preceded him in death in 2012...

Dear Editor: I have been hearing and reading a lot about the homeless shelter that some are wanting to build. I for one have not seen a homeless problem in Nevada. Have the people who are wanting to build it ever heard the saying, "If you build it, they will come ('Field of Dreams')"? I am just seeing the big picture...
