Two of our newest deputies have been in training for the past couple of months and will soon be completing their final weeks with their field-training officers before taking calls on their own. It has been good to see how they have progressed in their training, and the effort they have made to complete every task asked of them...

Hi neighbors. Last Saturday I attended my first high school reunion to celebrate 50 years since our graduation in 1967. Out of a class of 65 graduates, 31 showed up and with their partners, a total of 51 people attended the dinner. I did not attend the annual Black Walnut Festival parade that afternoon. My class did participate by riding on a float in the parade. Sorry I missed it, but it just couldn’t work out...

Missouri Farm Bureau Federation The excitement of moving into our new home had faded to the reality of the work of unpacking. Monday night as my wife and I were unpacking the last boxes in the garage, we were interrupted by the sound of children playing in the street. Our two kids quickly grabbed their bikes to join in the fun. Glenda “Jean” Derringer, 69, of Nevada, passed away on Oct. 5, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. Jean was born on Aug. 9, 1948, in Macks Creek, Mo., to Glen Clebert and Fern Adele (Blurton) McAfee. Jean attended Mack’s Creek School graduating in the Class of 1966. ...
