Richard Dalton Gann, 72, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. Richard was born May 28, 1947, in Noel, Mo., to Caddo and Mildred (Starnes) Gann. Richard grew up in McDonald County and attended school in Noel, Mo. He enjoyed fishing on the riverbank with his brothers, teasing his many nieces and nephews who knew him as Uncle Richie, and helping his family. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends...

Elnora A. Painter “Puzzy”, 91, passed with peace and grace on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, with family at her side. She was born March 12, 1928, in Appleton City, Mo., the daughter of Luther A. Leak and Ruby E. Penfold. Elnora graduated Valedictorian from Schell City High School. ...

Lyman L. Bott, 92 of Moundville passed away on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Mo. Lyman was born in Rush County, Kan., on July 5, 1927, to Roscoe Wm. Bott and Frances E. (Wallace) Bott. He married Bonnie Jean Rogers in 1957 and she preceded him in death on May 1, 2012. ...

Jack (Jackie) Leo Barnes, loving brother, father, and grandfather, after a long-fought battle with illnesses passed away at the age of 72. Jack was born April 21, 1947, to Max and Margaret Barnes (Elliott). He was the oldest of three, with a younger brother, Jerry, and younger sister, Kristi. Jack grew up in Humansville, Mo., where he remained until graduating from Stockton High School in 1965...

After spending the past quarter-century at Nevada High School, physical education/health teacher Brent Bartlett has announced plans to retire at the conclusion of the school year in May. Bartlett, also the longtime head girls' varsity basketball coach, said his decision to retire from Nevada R-5 was an extremely difficult one to make...
