For players at football camp, the end zone is usually their favorite place to be. For the 60 or so seventh and eighth-graders training at the Nevada Tigers Middle School Football Camp, the most popular spot so far this week has been in the shade. During the hottest stretch of days so far this summer, the unforgiving sun has made running routes and manhandling tackling sleds extra difficult for Tigers looking for a leg up on the upcoming season — requiring Nevada High School head coach Wes Beachler and the Nevada Middle School coaching staff to provide extended rehydration breaks and some days even move up camp by nearly an hour.. ...

Nevada Regional Medical Center Board of Directors discuss COVID-19 surge, financials during meeting

The recent COVID-19 surge in the Nevada community, hospital financials, and Medicaid expansion were all topics of discussion during a lengthy meeting of the Nevada Regional Medical Center Board of Directors Tuesday evening. In his CEO report, NRMC CEO Steve Branstetter noted, "In the past few weeks we are in the hot spot are for a second surge (of COVID-19) and we expect increased rates not previously experienced during the last year and a half."
