Melba Jean Edmonds, 97, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, at Moore-Few Care Center, in Nevada. Melba was born in Metz, Mo., on Jan. 15, 1926, to Arnold and Grace (Kimrey) Buhr of Horton. Her family moved to Kansas City, Mo., after a house fire. Back in December, the Nevada Tigers picked up their first win in their sixth game of the year against a school in Arkansas. Nearly three months later, the Tigers are 14-13 on the year, ranked number 1 in Class 4 District 13, and are headed to the big dance - the district championship, after defeating the Clinton Cardinals 51-36.
