It was beginning to look at least a little like Christmas at the Nevada Community Center on Wednesday evening, Nov. 20, when local artist and professional art instructor and owner of I Heart Art Studio, Jeanette Hawkins, brought her wares for about 14 children to paint snowmen. As kids were arriving, since the tables were already set with stretched out canvases and brushes, one could find Hawkins already at work doing some fancy, wintery facepainting...

COTTEY COLLEGE –The weather was surprisingly warm for a late November outdoor meet, but that did not phase Comet Madalenn Fee as she took the starting line for the NAIA Cross Country National Championships. Fee would have the best race of her career, clockin in at 22:02.3 and taking 46th place. That time was good enough to once again break her own 6k cross country school record, as well as mark the highest ever individual finish in program history...
