Edwin E. Helton, 97, resident of Fort Scott, Kan., died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Guest Home Estates. He was born March 11, 1916, in Yuma, Colo., the son of James E. and Minnie A. Foote Helton. He married Hettie Mae Beattie on Sept. 10, 1934, in Stratton, Colo. They were married for 73 years before she preceded him in death on Nov. 11, 2007.
