The Cottey College athletic department recently received some good news, having been awarded a $15,000 stipend from the National Football League (NFL) to help offset expenses related to its new flag football program. Cottey is one of only 15 collegiate institutions in the United States, and the only in Missouri, with a flag football program. During their regular monthly meeting Wednesday evening, the Sheldon R-8 Board of Education was apprised of school re-opening plans by Superintendent Jason Irwin.
