Olivia Culbertson may only be a sophomore this year, but she already has more experience under her belt as a softball player than some senior athletes. (09/23/08) The Nevada Lady Tigers softball team has felt the joys of victory with marked consistency in recent games. Over the weekend, the Lady Tigers played in the El Dorado Springs Invitational tournament and placed second to Lamar. In game one of the day, Nevada rolled easily over Stockton, plating 17 runs in the top of the first inning and eventually taking the win 27-0 on 17 hits...
Johnson's road to recovery nearly complete
(09/11/08) "It's been hard work, but it's been worth it." Those are the words of Nevada High School multi-sport athlete Lexi Johnson. Lexi was involved in a head-on vehicle collision last October that left her with two broken legs, a fractured collar bone and a torn patellar tendon. She openly admits that the trip that ended in that accident should have been her last, but still keeps a positive attitude about her situation...

The first step was hiring a head coach, and Cottey has hired Gregory Tietz as its first head softball coach.
